Solar

Discover the latest developments in solar energy technology and the integration of solar PV: advanced solutions for generating, storing, and optimizing solar energy for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Solar energy has become one of the cheapest forms of electricity generation worldwide. In recent years, solar PV has become more affordable than the cheapest fossil-fuel alternative, supplying around 20 percent of total electricity demand in the Netherlands. This competitive cost makes solar energy a driving force behind the transition to renewable energy and a powerful tool for structurally lowering energy prices.

At the same time, solar energy increases energy independence; at a national level by reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels and volatile global markets, and at an individual level by enabling households and businesses to generate their own electricity and protect themselves against fluctuating energy rates. Locally generated solar power means greater control over energy costs and reduced exposure to geopolitical price shocks.

At Sustainable Solutions Amsterdam, you will discover a wide range of solar energy solutions and applications, from the latest solar panels and inverters to mounting systems and smart energy management systems.

Smart Storage

Discover the latest developments in energy storage and smart battery management: advanced solutions for storing, controlling, and optimizing energy for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. As the share of solar and wind energy in the energy system continues to grow and the Dutch net metering scheme is gradually phased out, energy storage is becoming an indispensable link in the energy transition.

The Dutch storage market is growing explosively. According to figures from Dutch New Energy Research, battery capacity in the Netherlands doubled in 2024 compared to 2023, while the home battery segment alone more than tripled. This growth continues unabated: as the net metering scheme approaches its end and electricity prices fluctuate more strongly due to the growing share of solar and wind energy, more and more households are choosing to store and manage their own solar energy.

The role of smart storage extends far beyond storage alone. Battery systems absorb fluctuations between supply and demand, enable electricity grids to handle a higher share of renewable energy, and give households and businesses greater control over their energy costs. By responding intelligently to dynamic tariffs, grid congestion, and energy markets, storage is evolving from a cost item into a revenue model.

At Sustainable Solutions Amsterdam, you will discover a broad range of storage solutions, from home batteries and commercial battery systems to large-scale BESS installations and the smart energy management systems (EMS) that control them.

EV Charging

Discover the latest developments in charging infrastructure and smart charging: advanced solutions for charging, managing, and feeding energy back into the grid for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. As the vehicle fleet becomes increasingly electrified and the share of solar and wind energy in the energy mix grows, charging infrastructure is evolving from a simple power connection into an active and controllable part of the energy system.

The Netherlands is an international frontrunner. With 10.04 charging points per 1,000 inhabitants, the Netherlands has the highest share in Europe, ahead of Belgium and Iceland, and with 183,000 charging points also the highest total number of installed charging points on the continent. According to figures from Dutch New Energy Research, the Netherlands surpassed the milestone of 1 million electric vehicles in 2025, of which approximately 60 percent are fully electric and 40 percent plug-in hybrid. At the same time, the focus is shifting from expansion to smarter utilization: 79 percent of all EV drivers have solar panels, and among those who can charge at home, 90 percent do so.

The next step is bidirectional charging. With Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), an electric vehicle can not only consume electricity but also feed it back into the grid or the home, effectively turning the car into a mobile home battery. The potential is enormous: with an average battery pack capacity of 50 to 60 kilowatt-hours, approximately 20 to 24 gigawatt-hours of battery capacity is driving around in the Netherlands today, far exceeding the current home battery market.

At Sustainable Solutions Amsterdam, you will discover a wide range of charging solutions, from AC and DC charging stations and bidirectional chargers to the smart charging and energy management systems that connect vehicles, buildings, and the grid.
